I wrote the lyrics to this song in 2011 and recently revisited them.

I want to set myself on fire, I want to watch me burn
I want to set myself on fire so that I can discern
which part of me is bone and which part of me is flesh
then out of the cold dead ashes I will dig up whatever's left

I want to set myself on fire, I'll burn the meat on my bones
'cause all that keeps me upright is all I ought to own
this calcium frame I've got is all I really need
Lord knows if I want it bad I'm gonna have to learn to bleed

I've lost myself within a maze of someone else's thoughts
and in the dark its hard to tell where I start and where I stop
so I drench myself in gasoline I try to do what's right
then I drop a match and become a burning beacon of light
